Canarium odontophyllum Miq. (Dabai) Leaf Phytoextracts and Their Medicinal Properties

Canarium odontophyllum Miq., renowned locally as “dabai,” is an endemic plant in Sarawak, Malaysia. Most people, especially rural areas, consume this to maintain their health. A few medicinal studies have investigated C. Miq.’s biological properties substantiate its use nutraceuticals and health supplements. Crude extracts from Miq. demonstrated various properties, including antibacterial, antimalarial, antioxidant, anticancer, antidiabetic, antihypertensive. In addition, numerous phytoextracts revealed the existence of a variety beneficial compounds, flavonoids, tannins, terpenoids. However, despite activities there currently no analysis summarizing leaf. Thus, short communication attempts narrate leaf responsible. conclusion, we summarized promising therapeutic effects with step closer developing it potential supplements fulfill social interest.
